VERSE OF THE WEEK
He said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. – Mark 16:6
Risen
There are several triumphant and victorious themes in the resurrection of the Messiah from the grave on the third day after His crucifixion. Not only did His sacrifice on the Cross satisfy the penalty for human sin, His return to life was a declaration of power over death and the forces of evil. He showed that humanity can reunite with the Creator and be restored into a right relationship with God and each other. What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ mean to you? Maybe you need some type of victory today. What dream has died that you have practically given up hope of being resurrected? Be confident that your heavenly Father knows your sorrow, heartache, and grief, and that He will work through your circumstances for good and for His glory. Remember that He is Lord over all, that His power is endless, and His timing is perfect.
